Potty training update

K's doing great with the potty training. Once we started putting her on the potty just before we go to sleep at night (at 11:30pm), we've had no more nighttime accidents. Wow! K has had one more little poop accident when she decided mid walk home that she needed to poop. Since our nanny didn't have the My.Carry Potty with her, they went back to the playdates' house (it was closer). She pooped a lot more on their toilet, so she did a good job of stopping herself from going.
We had our first fresh air and in-store potty sessions this weekend. We went out for dinner again on Friday night. K said she didn't need to pee before we left the restaurant, but 5 min later when we got to the car and I started to strap her in her carseat, she suddenly said "schnell pipi". Out came the My.Carry Potty, and I opened it up, put it on the wide stone wall bordering someone's garden, and then bared her little bum to the cold and wind. Yay peepee! Then she wanted to pee again, but didn't produce. With her third request for the potty, I told her nope, it was time to head home. She had another false alarm in the supermarket this morning. I whipped off her winter coat when she said "pipi kaka" and said yes when I asked if she needed to do both. Parked the stroller near the entrance door, and popped open the potty in the entry way (I wasn't willing to open it in the grocery store and had no idea where their washroom might be located). She thought sitting there with snowpants etc bunched around here knees as people walked past us into the store was good fun, but didn't do anything.
My friend who I haven't seen in 1 3/4 years came over for a visit this morning. K was practicing saying "Good morning S" on our way back from the grocery store, but when S showed up, K became shy and wouldn't say anything. We left her to entertain herself for a min while I finished cleaning up in the kitchen and made S an espresso. Next thing you know, we're chatting and I start hearing sniffling sounds and whimpers from K. Then crying. I had to go get her at the other side of the room to pick her up for a hug and cuddle. She said she was crying and scared of S. It didn't take all that long for her to get over it though, and by the end of the visit she was giving S a hug and kisses. S was great with her, and even offered to babysit for us any time. It would be so amazing if we could take her up on it some time, as we've only been out three times on our own since having K when we've been able to leave her with my Mum. I'm going to try to rope my Dad into sitting for her sometime soon. K was super good during the visit though - she played with playdoh and scribbled with crayons and enjoyed a chocolate cupcake S had brought, had me sing a couple songs, and otherwise kept herself occupied while S and I chatted for 2h. I was impressed!
K's been counting past 10 in 2 languages for a few weeks now. She usually skips 3 in German, but can get up to 11. She also does well in English, though we don't count with her in it much. She'll do pretty well counting objects in books, but tends to try to insist that there are 4 of anything you ask her to count. She can sing most of the ABC song, and does really well with Twinkle twinkle. She likes to try to sing "Bringing home a baby bumblebee" which is very cute as she clasps her hands together when singing it.
Her latest great trick is "reading" her "Blue Hat, Green Hat" book. She'll "read" right along as you point to each character in it, getting the colours right and saying "oops" in all the right spots. It's very cute. She has her favourite books these days too, and is able to say parts of them by heart as well. She loves "What's wrong, little pookie" and "Die kleine Maus sucht einen Freund" (the little mouse looks for a friend by Eric Ca.rle). "I'll see you in the morning" is another big favourite right now.
Going to bed is a little rough still, as she often asks to pee again and again before finally going to sleep in her crib. We transitioned her back into her sleep sac after a few dry nights in a row as she was waking up often and had usually kicked the blanket off if I went in to check on her. She's sleeping much more normally again now, which is nice.
The three and four word sentences these days are great, and it's so fun to see her mind developing. She likes to talk about how she cried when she sat on Santa's lap, and how she's scared of loud fire trucks (DH and K saw a bunch of fire trucks drive right past them with sirens blaring one night recently). She keeps asking to go swimming at Granddad's. I'm amazed at some of the words she comes out with that I didn't even realize she knows.
I'm very proud of her!
2 days till lining check. I got myself a little worried last night by looking at my frozen blast report from my RE that says I've got a 2BCh, 1BB, 2BB, and 1BB left. The first two are frozen together, so I bet those will be the ones that get thawed as they're planning to thaw with the intent of transferring two. I can't remember what was transferred on the cycle to get K - I think maybe a 3BB and a 1BB. I guess there's no way of knowing which ones will turn into a baby. I hope one of them will work out!
Now if only I'd remembered to pick up my progesterone script on Friday before rushing home from work... I'll have to swing by the pharmacy to get it early this week, and I'm not sure if I'll be working at the hospital or will be out of hospital every day.
Praying for a good lining, great embryos, and a positive result!

Wow! What a potty pro Miss K. I don't think that I could be fast or organized enough to whip out a porta potty so quickly. I guess we all learn quickly new and interesting skills as a Mommy. Keeping you in my thoughts for a successful FET. Good Luck!

Glad to hear Miss K is getting along with pottying. Michael is doing really good lately too and has moved up to more adult bathroom intervals, which makes me nervous, but it's nice to not be hassling him to the potty so often.

Good luck with the FET!
