Over the last couple days, K has learned to get up into a sitting position from lying on her tummy. DH found her sitting in her crib yesterday morning, and today she showed me her new skill a couple times.
K's also been pulling up onto her knees for a few weeks now, but is getting better and better at it.
She's still not crawling, but is able to push herself backwards quite far when on her tummy, and is getting a bit of a bum scoot going.
She's quite good at playing on her own now, and just loves the Pl.an Toys sorting bus she was given for Christmas. She loves gumming the shapes that come with it, and will pick it up and turn it over (and throw it too).
K's started to play peek-a-boo more, and has started wrinkling her nose sometimes when she smiles, which is really cute. She seems very scared of people with white hair (ie her grandparents), and takes a long time to warm up to people other than us now. As in days.

sounds like she might skip crawling altogether!
Our little boy went through a stage where he was terrified of older people as well, no idea why as he's never had a bad experience with one as I'd never left him with anyone. Needless to say the grandparents were quite offended when he'd shriek in terror everytime he saw them! It passed after a couple of months. Happy new year!
K is doing so well - my two can sit but not on their own and they certainly don't sit up by themselves yet. So advanced :)
The smiling thing - melts your heart every tine I'm sure. Victoria is playing peek-a-boo also but with horrible accuracy. She takes one of those little cloths, holds it above her head (and not covering her eyes at all) and then drops the cloth quickly down in front of her face and when I say "boo!" she giggles and laughs. Too funny.
These are fun times aren't they?
Good for her. She'll keep giving you more surprises.
That's very exciting!!!
Aww, how cute! This is such a fun stage!
Birdie went through a stage where her grandpa freaked her out. Thankfully it seemed to pass rather quickly, but I know it made him feel bad.
I was wondering what comes first, sitting or crawling... I guess it's sitting for K. You must post a pic of her scrunching her nose, sounds so cute!
