Update

Well, the occasional tightening is still happening, though they're not as crazy as Sunday evening's couple really nasty ones. I didn't get a great sleep last night, so although I only had 1-2 all day yesterday that I noticed (mostly from just feeling my belly), I've had about 7 so far today.
My OB finally called me back late last night. She's concerned about preterm labour. She said to bump my progesterone back up to 200mg three times a day. I asked about 17P, which she'll prescribe if I want her to - at this rate I'd say yes! She also suggested I get rid of my call shifts for the next while, and take it easy if I want to continue at work. Which I do. There's apparently no proof that bedrest prevents preterm labour or changes outcomes. So I spoke to my boss about both things. I'm going to try to pick "low-effort" lists in the OR (long relaxing cases) or just do consults, which will let me sleep in and sit around talking to the patients. I'll let the others handle the epidurals for me unless I have absolutely nothing going on in the clinic and want to do one.
Please pray with me that all this settles down. And that we decide to put an offer in on the house we like tonight and then get it. I'd love to have the house-hunting stress over with so quickly. And I really want the possible-preterm-labour stress over with.

Well at least your doc is being proactive! Hopefully your work can accomodate you as needed. Will they continue to monitor your cervix length?

You're in my thoughts. This is so frightening. I hope your job can work with you and give you an easier time....

A friend who went into preterm labou (not that you're there!) used magnesium to try to stop it (well her doctors used it). I'm sure you know all there is to know but I thought i'd share.

Good luck on the house. I hope you get that over with. This must be so scary and I'm sorry you have to go through it at all. It's great that you can take a more relaxing schedule if for anything just to give you peace of mind. Sending all my thoughts and love and prayers to the universe for you.

Yowsers! I'm sorry to hear that things are taking some time to settle down and I hope that you can take it easy. I know that they say there isn't any proof about resting helping pre-term labour BUT your body is better able to deal with stresses when well rested so you never know...it may help. Take it easy!

Okay I do have lots to say about this and am happy to answer questions you left on my blog... my email is carehamilton AT gmail DOT COM. Can you send me a mail and I will get back to you?

Thinking of you and know you are freaked out right now. It seems terrifying, and I can offer my experience. :) BIG hugs.
