It seems like time is flying by and I'm just not updating my blog as often as I used to. K is so entertaining these days, and her speech is getting so much more complicated. This morning, for instance, I went to the bathroom. She came it too, said "Mama Kaka machen. K muss das Ventilator einschalten." (Mama pooping. K must turn on the fan) and proceeded to move stools and garbage basket around so she could climb up to turn on the fan. The other night, we were having ribs and she was begging to be allowed to gnaw the bones like we were. We'd told her she could have them when she was older the last time we cooked them, and now she wanted them. First she said "K groesser bist, K Knochen essen" (K is older, K eats bones). Then "Mama gross. Papa gross." (Mama and Papa big). Then "K gross" (K big). "Mama und Papa sind schon gross." (Mama and Papa are already big) I couldn't believe she's conjugating some verbs so well already.
She does speak in a bit of Genglish where she'll substitute one English or German word with the perfect German or English one. It's totally understandable to us, but hard for others to catch on to at times.
Bedtime seems to be creeping later and later these days. It's now usually around 9:15pm that she actually gets to sleep. She fights going to the potty one last time, and then has to have her bedtime routine of 1-2 stories (depending how long they are), kiss and hug Papa good night, then snuggle in the rocking chair with Mama for a couple minutes, then get tucked in to her crib with her blankets (now with a folded up muslin blanket for a "pillow") and baby and Charlie, then hold Mama's hand for a minute, and then get that hand tucked in too, after which I stroke her hair and tell her: "Gute Nacht. Trauem was schoenes. Schlaf gut, schlaf schoen durch, und schlaf morgen lange aus. Mama und Papa haben Dich ganz toll lieb." (Good night. Dream sweetly. Sleep well, sleep through, and sleep in tomorrow. Mama and Papa love you very much.) Sometimes she asks me to stroke her hair some more.
Wakeups are unpredictable, any where from 6:45-8:30am. We bought her a Gro_clock to try to get her to stay quietly in bed till 8am, but so far she's not managing to do that. She does ask to see the moon before she goes to sleep and gets excited to see the sun after she gets up, so I think there is hope.
I've been working lots since getting back from vacation, and will work a little harder the next few weeks as well because I'm picking up a couple of extra call shifts. One of the other young mother anesthetists where I work was killed in a tragic car accident while off on vacation last weekend. She apparently took off her seatbelt to change a DVD for her kids, and was ejected from the van when her husband went off the highway (no one knows why) and rolled the van in the median ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene, her husband suffered a minor injury, and the kids are fine. It's such a senseless and tragic loss. Please don't take your seatbelt off while your car is in motion for any reason. Chances are slim that you'll have an accident, but if you do, it really could be the difference between life and death. She leaves behind two kids under 3 1/4.
In other news, today is again CD1. So much for a vacation miracle natural baby. I took femara at the start of vacation and don't think I even ovulated, as a couple weeks later I was bleeding again. Now I'm going in for my CD3 baseline on Tues and will start on the pill in preparation for our final FET. Please keep us in your thoughts and keep the prayers coming for a beautiful thawed embryo and a successful FET. It's our very last chance as DH still won't agree to a fresh cycle. If this fails, it's a miracle baby or nothing, which leaves me hopeless and sad. Please God let this one work!

I will send out prayers and positive thoughts that your FET works beautifully! I'm so impressed by K. I took 4 years of German and I know how hard it is to conjugate all those verbs correctly. Oh to be young and bilingual. It's so cool she's being raised that way! Are you or your DH from Germany? I assume that DH is with all his family there.
