6 years

After my FIL sent us a "congrats on your 6th anniversary" email that we got this evening, we both finally realized that 6 years ago today was our wedding. Luckily both of us completely forgot about it, so neither was offended.
K was being very lovey at times today, putting her little hands on our cheeks and coming in to rub noses and to try to give us both big open-mouthed kisses. It was very cute, but pretty sloppy wet.
She's back to saying "Mama" lots, which I think means me. "Nanana" is banana. "Woof woof" is a dog (or pretty much any other animal, I think). She's not really saying too many other words yet, though she'll sign "more" and "all done" at times, but not necessarily actually mean it.
K's starting to get much more physically coordinated too. She can pretty easily maneuver an adult-sized fork into her mouth, and is much more steady on her feet. She's able to climb very low steps (like an inch or two) on her own, but climbing back down is still too difficult for her. She isn't able to get herself back up to a standing position (though I'm sure I've seen her do in a month or so ago), and will sit there reaching out her hand and making noises until you help her back onto her feet. We borrowed a ball from another little girl in the park this afternoon, and she walked all over throwing it a little, picking it up, and once even giving it a good kick.
She loves ice cream/gelato, pasta, and risotto. Bananas are her favourite fruit these days. She ate most of a peach and a bunch of cherries the first time I gave them to her, but hasn't wanted much since. Zucchini is going down pretty well these days, as are french fries and potato chunks.
This little girl takes after both of us when it comes to being stubborn. Thwart her in her wishes, and she'll cry like mad, which I wasn't expecting to happen so soon. She's even plonked herself down on her bum sobbing a few times when you try to lead her away from something she isn't supposed to be getting into. Trips to the grocery store are a huge hassle if she's not contained in her carrier backpack or a cart, because she'll just wander around grabbing stuff off the shelves, and will cry like mad if you don't let her.
I guess I'd better go spend some time hanging out with DH on the couch to celebrate 6 years. What a romantic night!

Happy, happy anniversary.

It's good that she's progressing mentally and physically -- and even has her own stubborn ways.

Happy anniversay! Ours is this week, and we'll be spending it on the couch, too. One more thing that changes post kids, huh? Kay sounds like she is doing fantastically!

Happy anniversary. How great that you were able to celebrate as a family of three. Little K is getting bigger every day, and it sounds like you're doing a great job as her mother.
